Ulrich Ensinger
Life
Although the historical sources give only scant information, it is most likely to seek the origin of the tower builder in Oberensingen near Nuertingen. An indication of such an origin is likely to be the fact that Ulrich von Ensingen at the age of about 15 years in the nearby town of Esslingen (approximately 20 kilometers) looked and found work in the Kirchenbauhütte (a foundation to ensure that churches were rised through donations by the common man)
Ulrich von Ensingen was the progenitor of the foremen family Ensinger. He was married to the daughter of Hans (* ca. 1390), son of Konrad Glaser (about 1325 to about 1393). Ulrich von Ensingen had at least three sons and two daughters. The daughter Anna († 1429) married Hans Kun, who was just like their son Kaspar Kun foreman by the Minster of Ulm. The daughter Ursula (1386-1430) was a convent wife at the monastery since. His Three Sons Kaspar, Matthew and Mathias thus learned the stonemasonry trade and worked Their Way up to become builders. Matthew and his grandson Moritz continued his work and Followed him as architect at the minister of Ulm. Matthew and his son from his first marriage Vincenz continued the construction of Esslinger Frauenkirche.
